Black Lab Studio is a family owned photography studio located in Flemington, NJ. Started in 2001 by Robert Heil and named after his best pal “Fitz” his Black Lab. In the beginning we started out as Commercial and Fashion Studio. Then in 2005 Robert met Arielle Friedman. Arielle had convinced Robert to take a whirl at photographing Mitzvah’s and family events. The two went out on their first job together and found that not only do they enjoy working with each other, they also create wonderful images together.

Arielle’s glowing inspiration and Robert’s creative touch quickly brought Black Lab Studio into the world of event photography. And then like every great story, they got married. So if you’re planning a wedding, you bet these two know what it’s like to be on your side. And you will find that Arielle can’t wait to give you a hand with planning your special day and telling stories about her own.

Now with our primary focus on Event Photography. We bring style, fun and a unique approach to every event we cover.

Along with Arielle and Robert we also have a staff of highly skilled and unique photographers that continually push the envelope of creativity. We strive to be different than the rest so that your images stand out and last the test of time.

In these changing times... our Studio is against the “Photo Package” concept that you may see from everyone else. Instead we like to give you the ability to completely customize any options you may want from your event coverage to what size prints you want in the end. This allows you to get what you want and save money!
